The Institution prepares students for the B.A. Degree in Bharathanatyam, Carnatic Music (Vocal), Western Classical Music (Instrumental), History, English, Kannada, Journalism and Drawing and Painting with graphic animation. The institution is affiliated to Mangalore University and recognized by the Government of Karnataka.
The institution will have a preferential option for the economically and culturally neglected sections of the society.
The institution follows a 'GURU-SHISHYA' tradition with emphasis on Indian traditions, values and ethos with the belief that it's only through the sensitive GURU-SHISHYA (Teacher-Disciple) relationship can we preserve the artistic traditions of India.
The education imparted by the institution is intended to foster a spirit of love for creative arts, an abiding desire for inter cultural dialogue, a sense of hard work, a concern for the dispossessed in the society, a strong commitment to spread the priceless artistic traditions of India and to be responsible citizens of India in particular and world citizens in general.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The eligibility to join the B.A. Degree course is:
The candidate should have completed the two years of Pre University Course (PUC) and an aptitude for dance and music.

The combinations offered for the B.A degree course are as follows: -
Section I: History , Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music (Vocal)
Section II: History, Bharatanatyam and Western Classical music (Keyboard)
Section III: Western Music, English Major / Kannada Major and History
Section IV: Carnatic Vocal, English Major / Kannada Major and History
Section V: Bharatanatyam ,English Major / Kannada Major and History
(Journalism and Drawing & painting with graphic animation will be added to the combination)
The languages are English, Kannada and Hindi.
CAMPUS FACILITIES
LIBRARY
The library has select titles with reading room facility. In addition select magazines and journals are available for reading. Library is a place of quiet study. Strict silence must be observed at all times in and outside the library. The college Library and Reading Room are open only to the staff and students of the College.
AUDIO VISUALS
The college has an audio-visual room with select audio and video programmes. It is equipped with the necessary audio-visual screening facilities. In keeping with the mass media culture of the day, audio-visuals will be used appropriately.
PRAYER ROOM
SANDESHA has an aesthetically designed prayer room located at the centre of the Sandesha building. It is the heart, the power house, a veritable GUDI of divine presence, prayer and peace.
INDOOR GAMES
Facilities are provided to spend free time gainfully through a variety of indoor games.
KALADARSHINI PROGRAMMES
Performances and demonstration-lecture sessions by reputed artistes are organized on regular basis to acquaint with the artistes and to derive inspiration from them.
SCHOLARSHIPS AND CONCESSIONS
The Central Government and the State Government offer several scholarships to deserving students.
- National Merit Scholarship
- National Loan Scholarship to the meritorious and needy students who are domiciled in Karnataka State and whose family income is less than Rs. 25,000
- Post-Metric Scholarship to students whose parent's annual income is less than Rs.10,000
- Scholarships to the children of the Beedi workers.
- Scholarships to students of non-Hindi speaking states for Post-Metric studies in Hindi.
- Educational concession to children and dependents of service personnel (Army, Navy, Air Force).
- Government of India (Social Welfare Department) scholarships to SC/ST students.
- Fee concessions to the students whose parent's annual income is less than Rs.11, 000.
- Poor but deserving students can avail themselves of the scholarships awarded by this institution.
Important Note:
On the basis of the University regulation, the College will conduct only two terminal examinations for the purpose of deciding on the internal assessment marks (There will be no assignments given to any student). Every degree student will answer these two examinations compulsorily, the first one towards the end of the September (for a duration of two hours) and the second one towards the end of January (for a duration of three hours), every year.
